Kin + Deum joins eclectic London Bridge restaurant scene

Founded by Thai siblings Bank, Roselyn and Shakris Inngern, Kin + Deum will launch on 12 July at 2 Crucifix Street, on the former site of Suchard –also a Thai restaurant- which also has a Tooley Street site.
An all-day casual dining affair, the restaurant will offer lunch and dinner menus that comprise both classic Thai dishes and new dishes inspired by the founders’ travels.
Kin + Deum will serve familiar dishes including green, panang and massaman curry; various fried rice dishes; prawn toast; and chicken satay. More creative dishes will include claypot prawns with glass noodles in dark soy sauce; seabass choo chee curry; chicken satay brioche; and chicken laab salad. Optional extras include tamarind crispy eggs; tenderstem broccoli; and oyster mushrooms.
“We wanted to capture everything we loved about Thailand - the vibrancy, the art & culture, the happiness, the green plants and of course the exotic food,” says co-founder Bank Inngern.
“Although we are a restaurant, we love the Thai lifestyle where people take things slowly and have positive energy in everything they do."
Independent and high-profile Thai restaurants have proven increasingly popular over the past year, with Smoking Goat expanding to a larger site in Shoreditch; its Soho sister Kiln taking the top spot at the Estrella Damm National Restaurant Awards 2018; and fashionable Bangkok restaurant Greyhound Café making its successful UK debut.
The casual Thai dining scene looks set for a similar rise in popularity, with the likes of Thai Express choosing this summer to expand out of the capital.
