The Ivy Collection will debut an Asian concept next month as it launches its biggest site yet in Manchester's Spinningfields.

The Ivy Spinningfields will span four storeys at new timber-framed development The Pavilion. Alongside a second floor Asian bar and restaurant, it will include a brasserie, roof garden and private dining room.

At 535 covers, the new restaurant will be the biggest in the Caprice Holdings group, as well as the largest opening in the UK this year.

Housed on the second floor, Ivy Asia will comprise a bar and restaurant with an Asian-inspired menu and a private Geisha Room. Dishes will include the likes of Wagyu beef with truffle sauce; salmon fillet teriyaki; and crispy tofu with avocado and lime and ginger dressing. Asian-inspired cocktails will also be available.

Despite being a first for the Ivy Collection, there has been speculation that chairman Richard Caring has had plans to launch an Asian concept ever since he trademarked the name Sexy Dragon for a potential follow-up to his Sexy Fish restaurant in Berkeley Square. In this month’s issue of Restaurant Magazine, BigHospitality’s sister print publication, Caring talks about his plans for the next stages of Caprice Holdings’ brands.

The ground floor of The Ivy Spinningfields will house a traditional Ivy-style brasserie, serving a classic menu of British dishes including slow-cooked lamb shoulder; truffled orzo pasta; and lobster linguine.

The first floor will be available for private bookings for up to 20 guests, for breakfast, lunch and dinner events, and on the top floor a roof garden with a retractable roof will provide a bar space where food and drink can be served.

“We are incredibly excited to bring The Ivy Collection to Manchester this winter,” says Baton Berisha, Director of Operations for The Ivy Collection

“Situated within the heart of Spinningfields, Manchester’s luxury dining and shopping quarter, we can’t wait to showcase our different floors, dining concepts and offerings. They’ll be something for everyone and we hope to bring something new to the city.”

The Ivy Spinningfields site will become the 33rd restaurant in the Ivy Collection's portfolio.
