Cambridge-based vegan restaurant brand Stem & Glory is moving to a new larger site in the city’s CB1 central development having outgrown its original venue.

The new restaurant will take up the ground floor in one of Cambridge’s largest office buildings at 60 Station Road, next to Cambridge railway station.

Opening in May, it will have a large outdoor terrace and will do off-site sales, which is a rapidly growing part of the business, says the company. On the menu will be Stem & Glory’s new vegan pizza concept, which it is currently piloting on its online store alongside an extensive range of vegan dishes.

“We have been looking for the perfect site in Cambridge for quite a while, after outgrowing our existing Cambridge site soon after opening,” says Stem & Glory founder Louise Palmer-Masterton.

“We’ve watched the amazing CB1 regeneration project grow over the past few years, and we are really looking forward to joining now that it is nearing its completion. For us, it’s the most exciting quarter in our home town of Cambridge”.
Palmer-Masterton says the restaurant, which was opened with the help of crowdfunding, “survived and thrived” during last year thanks to the supports of its customers and 1,200-strong investor community.

“Opening our doors again last year saw both our sites extremely busy, and we are feeling very optimistic for the rest of this year. With more and more people opting for healthier lifestyles post Covid, we see our expansion as a fantastic opportunity to help people live healthier and more compassionate lives.”

Stem & Glory operates two restaurants, the second in London’s Barts Square, which it opened having scessfully crowdfunded £350,000 through Crowdcube. It says its new Cambridge restaurant has been supported by a capital grant from Cambridge &  Peterborough Combined Authority as well as a ‘generous landlord package’.
