Greenwich-based entertainment and retail destination The O2 has signed several new F&B brands totalling 32,000 sq ft.

The string of new signings include Kitchen Pizzeria, Marugame Udon, Soukra, German Doner Kebab and competitive socialising concept Boom: Battle Bar will join over 30 bars and restaurants within the South East London venue.

Kitchen Pizzeria will be the first of the new signings to open, likely followed by affordable Japanese concept Marugame Udon.

The O2 site will be the udon-specialist’s second London restaurant and will trade over two floors totalling 3,790 sq ft offering hand-made Sanuki udon noodles, broth and tempura dishes.

Billed as a new Middle Eastern concept, Soukra is launching a 9,730 sq ft bar, lounge and restaurant that will open across the ground floor, mezzanine and garden spaces at The O2 in late 2021 while German Doner Kebab will launch 1,910 sq ft unit around the same time.

Boom: Battle Bar will be located in the middle of The O2’s entertainment district and is billed as a dynamic adventure bar experience offering Bavarian axe-throwing, crazy golf, electric darts and beer pong alongside street food, cocktails and Japanese-style karaoke booths. The site spans a double unit across two floors totalling more than 16,000 sq ft.

The O2 is owned and operated by The Waterfront Limited Partnership, a joint venture between AEG and Crosstree Real Estate Partners, which also owns and operates the Icon Outlet.

The news follows the re-opening of Icon Outlet and roofwalk attraction Up at The O2, in line with England moving to the second stage of the lockdown easing.

"The commitment from such a great range of leading independent operators demonstrates the appeal of The O2 as a flagship location. Each of the new signings adds something exciting and different to our offer – some with their first sites in Europe,” says executive VP of real estate and development at AEG Europe Alistair Wood.

“Despite an incredibly challenging pandemic, we have worked very hard to keep our existing brands and to bring in diverse new offerings that add to the holistic experience at The O2.  With a packed arena diary, we are really looking forward to a busy couple of years as we welcome visitors back to The O2.”

Lunson Mitchenall are the leasing agents for Food & Beverage and Leisure at The O2.
