Café Juliette has been launched by Unlocked Brands, led by Kanvass Projects’ Tristram Hillier and Scott Ward, formerly of JKS Restaurants, along with Simon Ward-Nicholson, the former managing director at Ole & Steen, and Victoria Sheppard, owner of luxury cafe Queens of Mayfair.
The ‘Provençale meets the French Riviera rosé’ concept is located on the ground floor of the store with an outdoor terrace seating up to 100 diners and is situated on the Basil Street entrance of Harrods.
It serves a seasonal menu of French bistro dishes such as smoked chicken and roast squash pithivier; and wild mushroom, camembert and potato pithivier; as well as a small selection of salads. Brunch dishes include eggs Benedict, eggs royale and poached Burford Brown eggs with desserts including crêpes Suzette; salted caramel éclair; and lemon meringue pie.
The wine list features a breadth of rosés, with wines from vineyards such as Mirabeau, Ultimate Provence and Rumor as well as Idris Elba’s Porte Noir.
Café Juliette is the second restaurant from Unlocked Brands and follows on from the opening of Homestead on London City Island.
The new opening is one of a number of new food and drink destinations to open in the department store, with Jason Atherton and Tom Kerridge also opening restaurants there in the past few weeks.
