Coco di Mama has become the latest casual dining brand to partner with a major national supermarket.

The quick-service Italian chain, which is operated by the Azzurri Group, has partnered with Sainsbury’s to trial a range of its premium grab-and-go products across 15 London convenience stores.

Sainsbury’s customers will be able to choose from eight of Coco di Mama’s ‘made fresh, every day’ baguettes and salads, complementing its Taste the Difference and £3.50 meal deal offer.

The range includes best sellers such as chicken Milanese on sourdough; caprese multigrain; and chicken Caesar salad.

Coco di Mama continues to operate a number of bricks and mortar sites in the capital, but over the course of the pandemic has focused on expanding virtually across the UK via delivery kitchens.

“We are excited to partner with Sainsbury’s to offer some of our best selling, generous grab and go products to customers in new locations across London," says Jim Attwood, managing director of the Azzurri Group brand.

"This is the brand’s first foray into a retail channel as we build on the established London food to go stores and the success of our 130 nationwide delivery kitchens.”

Earlier this year Boparan Restaurant Group (BRG) partnered with Sainsbury's to trial three new concepts in its supermarkets, including two that have launched under its Carluccio’s brand.

Pret A Manger has also begun opening supermarket locations under a partnership with Tesco.
