Claude Bosi is making a return to Mayfair by teaming up with Bombay Bustle and MiMi Mei Fair owner Samyukta Nair to open a new restaurant this year.

Called Socca Bistro, the new French-Mediterranean bistro will pay homage to the coastal towns and flavours of the French Riviera and will open at 41 South Audley Street in the summer on the former Richoux site.

Rumours have been circling about Bosi and Nair partnering for a project in Mayfair and have now been confirmed by Nair on social media.

Posting on Instagram under a picture of her and Bosi outside the location, she wrote: "I'm thrilled to partner with the incredibly talented Claude Bosi to open Socca Bistro that pays homage to the coastal towns of Cannes, Marseille and Nice to recreate the nostalgia and flavours of the French Riviera."

Nair first met Bosi five years ago when we exchanged at his former Hibiscus site on Maddox Street, which is now Bombay Bustle. She is also understood to be taking on a site at nearby 1 Grosvenor Square that was previously home to the American Embassy.

The move marks a welcome return for Bosi who closed his two Michelin-starred restaurant Hibiscus in October 2016 after 16 years. He is also currently chef-patron at Claude Bosi at Bibendum in Chelsea, a two Michelin-starred restaurant located on the first floor of Michelin House.

Samyukta and her father Dinesh are co-founders of LSL Capital, which owns a collection of high-end restaurants in London that also includes Jamavar on Berkeley Square. The restaurants were previously been part of Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, which was founded by Samyukta's grandfather.

The cuisine of the French Riviera will very much be in the spotlight in the capital this year. Chef Mauro Colagreco, chef-patron of Three Michelin-starred Mirazur, located on the Côte d'Azur, is also bringing his cooking to London next year with the opening of a number of restaurants at the soon-to-open Whitehall hotel Raffles London At The OWO.
