Revolution investing £2m to lift pay above minimum
In real terms it will mean, for example, a 19-year-old chef working for the group will see their wage increase from £7.50 per hour to £9.80 – equivalent to £92 a week or £4,784 a year; while a 21-year-old glass collector will see their wages increase from £8.26 per hour to £9.35.
The operator of bars including Revolution, Revolución de Cuba, Playhouse, and Founders & Co said the initiative formed one of many commitments the business was implementing in order to make it more attractive to potential staff, as well as to reward and retain its existing people.
A new pay and reward manager role has also been created to oversee and safeguard employee compensation and benefits for the group’s 3,000+ employees.
Danielle James has been internally promoted into the new role and will be implementing a financial wellbeing strategy, alongside her ongoing objectives to review and enhance the benefit offering for all colleagues.
“We are emphatically committed to recognising our highly talented teams,” says Rob Pitcher, chief executive of Revolution Bars Group.
“This announcement, alongside the recent internal promotion of Danielle James in a new dedicated role, is a display of the group’s ongoing intent and commitment to our people.”
