Various Eateries has announced CEO Yishay Malkov has agreed his resignation with the board.

Malkov will step down from his role as director and CEO with immediate effect, but remain available to the Various Eateries team over the coming months to ensure a smooth transition.

Andy Bassadone will continue to lead the group in his role as executive chairman, with a strong focus on the growing neighbourhood pasta restaurant brand Noci, which recently launched its second London site within the newly-restored Battersea Power Station.

Rebecca Tooth will continue as managing director of Coppa Club.

“Yishay has shepherded the company through the toughest three years that I have seen in this industry in my entire career,” says Bassadone.

“On behalf of the whole Various Eateries team, I would like to thank him for his dedication and tireless hard work over this period and wish him well for the future.”

Back in February, Various Eateries reported 'positive trading performance against a challenging backdrop' as it grew revenues by 82% to £40.7m in 2022, up from £22.3m in 2021.

The Hugh Osmond-founded group, which also owns Tavolino Bar & Kitchen by London Bridge, posted adjusted earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) growth of 193% to £3.5m (2021: £1.2m).

In total, it made a loss before tax of £7.2m (2021: loss of £3.7m).
