Tom Barnes and Altrincham Market founders to speak as Generation Next heads to Manchester
Taking place on Wednesday 20 March at Ducie Street Warehouse, the free-to-attend event will mark the first time Generation Next, a content forum that focuses on the future stars of hospitality, has ventured to the north west’s most populous city.
The half-day conference will include a range of panels and fireside chats with Manchester-based operators spanning the spectrum of the hospitality space.
Barnes will feature as part of a panel alongside Mary-Ellen McTague discussing the changing face of Manchester’s dining scene and how it became one of the UK’s most exciting cities for eating out.
Elsewhere, Market Operations founders Nick Johnson MBE and Jenny Thompson MBE, whose portfolio also includes Mackie Mayor, will be chatting about the evolution of the food hall in the UK and reveal what they look for when searching for operators to take up residence at one of their markets; and husband and wife team Jonny and Charlotte Heyes discuss their NYC-style pizza joint Nell’s, which currently has three sites in Manchester and a fourth on the way.
Plus, menu expert Annica Wainwright, co-founder of 2Forks, shares her tips on how to improve your offer, grow spend and create better customer experiences; and marketing guru Nick Fountain discusses how operators can harness the power of social media to boost business.
Created by Restaurant, Generation Next is targeted at those who own or operate independent restaurants and pubs or bars (up to five sites), coffee shops, QSR, food-to-go operations and street food vendors. Its aim is to provide up-and-coming hospitality businesses with key information, insight and inspiration as well as a platform for networking to support business growth.
