Elite Bistros passes latest crowdfunding target
The business has currently raised more than £99,000 with more than a day to go before the fund ends on Friday evening (8 March).
The success of the fund raise will pave the way for the creation of a new kitchen at Usher’s debut restaurant Sticky Walnut in Hoole, Chester, which celebrates its thirteenth birthday this year.
Writing on the Kickstarter fund page, the business says the money will go towards a new kitchen that will help the restaurant serve breakfast seven days a week. The plan is for a ‘cleaner, safer and more economical’ stainless steel kitchen with the gas ovens being replaced by electric.
‘Besides from it being cleaner, safer and more economical... it’ll mean we won’t have to have the fans running at full blast all the time which the chefs are very pleased about! All round it’s going to make it such a nicer environment to work in and you know what they say... happy chefs make amazing food! And lots of eggs Benedict!,’ it says.
Usher is no stranger to crowdfunding having used the mechanism to grow his restaurant business to six restaurants as well as a pub and an event catering arm.
