I am Döner secures first site in Canada
The Think Hospitality-backed kebab brand has signed for a ‘super high footfall spot’ in the city of Toronto.
It comes after the group signed an international franchisee deal earlier this year with FD Builders Inc, which will eventually see it open five sites across Toronto and Mississauga in Ontario.
In an update, non-executive chairman James Hacon said that the business is also currently in talks with prospective partners in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), building on its existing dark kitchen launch in Dubai.
“We are open to other conversations with the right partners,” he said.
I am Döner was founded in 2016 by chef Paul Baron who has previously said that the brand is aiming to reach a global estate of 50 sites by the end of 2025.
It currently operates seven sites across the UK with outposts in Leeds city, Harrogate, Headingley, Woolton, Bootle, Camden and Datchet.
The group recently recorded a ‘record trading week’ in its original store in Headingley.
