A restaurant offering ‘bespoke private dining’ has opened in Nottingham’s city centre.

Called Table 47, it is the brainchild of Nichola Thompson who worked for Gary Rhodes and spent time in the kitchen at Gordon Ramsay’s Maze before spending almost a decade at The Moleface Pub Company where she was head chef. More recently she has been a sports performance chef working with companies including Nottingham Forest Football Club and over the past few years has been a private chef cooking for clients in their homes on a regular basis.

The new restaurant is located in Bridlesmith Gate in Nottingham city centre and has been designed for private hire, where Thompson will cook a bespoke meal for guests, with menus created specifically for individual parties.

“I feel like over time I’ve built up a good client base and felt like I wanted to create my own private venue hire,” says Thompson. “The offering is completely bespoke to the client.”

“So, for example, you could have a six-course tasting menu, a mezze style family service, or drinks and canapés.”

The interior features dark blue walls and wood flooring and has a long carved wooden chef’s table at which Thompson will cook and serve dishes.

“The décor has a cosy homely boutique feel to it,” she says. “I’ve tinted the windows so the customer can have complete privacy.”

The restaurant is currently holding soft openings for May with its June bookings set to go live this week.
