Wingstop reaches 50 site milestone
The group’s latest location at Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park in Bolton holds more than 100 covers and will serve Wingstop’s signature menu, which includes 10 ‘classic’ flavours of wings such as spicy Atomic, Hickory Smoked BBQ, Hawaiian, and Lemon Pepper.
Originally founded in the US in 1994, Wingstop arrived in the UK in 2018. Its expansion has been led by master franchisee Lemon Pepper Holdings.
“Today is a significant day for Wingstop UK as we celebrate the incredible achievement of opening our 50th location in just under six years,” says Chris Sherriff, co-CEO of Lemon Pepper Holdings.
“Since our journey began in 2018, we've captured the taste buds of diners across the nation, and this milestone reflects not only our passion for delivering unmatched flavours but also our commitment to creating meaningful job opportunities.
“It’s been incredibly rewarding to see so many individuals progress, taking on new challenges and advancing within the company.”
The milestone opening comes just a few weeks after it was revealed that Lemon Pepper Holdings had hired Goldman Sachs to explore a sale of the business.
Wingstop’s expansion has accelerated significantly in the last year, with Bolton marking the group’s 11th opening since January. A further six sites are planned to launch this year, with more than 20 others under negotiation for 2025.
Last month Lemon Pepper Holdings set out an ambition to open up to 200 sites over the next five years.
“With significant potential still untapped across the UK, we're excited about the future,” continues Sherriff.
“We extend our heartfelt thanks to our exceptional employees and loyal flavour-lovers, who drive our continued success and expansion.”
