YouMeSushi is to open a new franchised site in Brixton later this month, with five more expected to launch later in the year.

Run by first-time franchisee George Sousa, the Brixton opening marks the sixth YouMeSushi location to open in the past year.

Sousa was a sushi chef for 10 years and has worked as a head chef with YouMeSushi for three years. “Transitioning to franchisee and running my own store has been an incredible journey,” he says.

YouMeSushi was originally founded in 2008 and has grown to 27 sites across the UK since the company started franchising in 2021.

“Our passion for Japanese cuisine has led to our inspirational, pioneering menu, which combines hot Japanese food and delicious fresh sushi created by our expert chefs,” says Tim Circus, head of franchise at YouMeSushi.

“Our popularity fuels the demand for continued expansion. We have developed and honed a robust and proven business model over the years, and we now welcome applications from QSR operators, business professionals and those with hospitality experience who are looking for an exciting opportunity to invest in our increasingly popular franchise.”

The company is currently seeking new franchisees.
