Santa Maria to open sixth London pizzeria

Santa Maria is marking its 15th anniversary with the opening of its sixth London restaurant.

The pizza brand will open a restaurant in Paddington’s Norfolk Place later this month, adding to its sites Ealing, Fulham, Fitzrovia, Islington, and most recently Kew Gardens.

Santa Maria was founded in 2010 by Angelo Ambrosio and Pasquale Chionchio, who first met in Napoli in the 1990s and who opened their debut 25-cover restaurant in Ealing on Valentine’s Day. The restaurant was named London’s Best Pizza by Time Out just two months after opening.

Located within the historic Frontline Club, The new Paddington site will serve Santa Maria’s range of to traditional Neapolitan pizza that includes options such as the San Filippo made with tomato sauce, mozzarella fiordilatte, peppers, courgettes, aubergines and parmesan; the Santo Filomena - mushrooms and truffle cream, Yorkshire sausage, smoked mozzarella and parmesan; and the Santa Paola, a tomato-less pizza made with smoked mozzarella, mushrooms, Yorkshire sausage, ‘nduja and parmesan.

It will also serve its range of bites, starters, salads and sides.

Santa Maria Paddington opens on 24 February.
