JKS Restaurants presents ‘The Women Who Make Us’

JKS, the London-based group behind Gymkhana, Bao, Hoppers and Berenjak, will host an afternoon of conversation on advancing gender equality at the Barbican Centre on Monday 10 March. ‘The Women Who Make Us’ will bring together individuals from across the hospitality industry and beyond with a programme of panels and workshops reflecting on this year’s theme: ‘accelerate action’. The afternoon will kick off with an introduction from JKS co-founder and chief people officer Sunaina Sethi, followed by a discussion on the perfectionism trap and self-advocacy from leadership coach Melissa Bruno. Next, a group of Gen Z women from across the JKS business will share perspectives on the industry, followed by a panel of South Asian women discussing overcoming stereotypes to build their careers in the creative industries. Keynote speaker Ayesha Ofori will then share a practical guide on how to start investing.
Tickets are priced at £25 and can be purchased via the link here. All proceeds will go to Smart Works.

The Ivy’s private dining room donation scheme

The Ivy Collection has announced that each month for the rest of 2025 it will be donating private dining space to a female-led business to use for growth and development. The move comes following a report from the Government’s Invest In Women Taskforce, which found that in the first half of 2024 only 1.8% of equity capital went to fully female-founded businesses. The private dining room donation initiative seeks to tangibly help support female-led businesses by providing space and resources, which they can use how they see fit, whether that is hosting business meetings, team planning sessions or networking events.
To apply for The Ivy Collection’s private dining room donation initiative, female-led business should apply via the online form here by 11:59PM on Friday 21 March 2025.
