Gaucho is to unveil a new quicker serve concept when it opens at the new London food hall BOXHALL City next month.

Called Gaucho Go, it will serve a menu inspired by the flavours of Argentina and Latin America, featuring its signature steak and chips and burgers alongside new dishes such as a spin on the classic hot dog.

It marks the first spin-off for the Argentinian steak restaurant group since it launched the now-defunct CAU brand in 2013.

Gaucho Go has been named as one of 13 traders at the new BOXHALL City, which is opening in the restored Metropolitan Arcade on Liverpool Street on 10 April.

Other confirmed traders include street food truck Baked Bird, which will open its first physical location at the food hall; independent bakery Sourdough Sophia; Club Mexicana; Burger & Beyond (pictured); and Egg Slut.

They will be joined by Farzi, a fine dining India restaurant that already has a site St James’s; Japanese-Latin fusion restaurant Nativo, which operates sites in Elephant & Castle and Peckham; sushi and fusion street food brand Inamo Sukoshi; Little Bao Boy; and Singaporean street food restaurant Old Chang Kee.

Other vendors will include Soft Serve Society, a dessert parlour, known for its matcha and charcoal coconut soft serve ice creams and sundaes; and Boki Coffee, adding to its existing sites in Aldgate and Wembley.

Located within a former Edwardian shopping arcade, BOXHALL City will also house a dedicated Kitchen space called Kitchen No.8 designed to be a platform for culinary talent to test new ideas, which will host a rotating line-up of chefs throughout the year as well as a rooftop bar, which is set to open later in the year.

“This mix of food and drink brands, the chef-led kitchen and heritage venue has resulted in the creation of an exciting new destination, unlike anything we’ve done before,” says Matt Snell, CEO of Boxpark.

“BOXHALL City will provide the City with a new all-day offer and a destination to enjoy delicious cuisines from across the globe.”
