Sally Abé joins the Bull in Charlbury
Sally Abé says she is returning to her roots with "proper British pub grub" (The Bull)

Former The Pem chef Sally Abé has been appointed head of food at Cotswolds pub The Bull Charlbury.

The news follows the announcement of Abé’s departure from The Pem earlier this month.

Abé has a top-flight cooking CV that includes The Ledbury, Elystan Street and the Harwood Arms.

At The Bull - which is part of Public House Group - Abé will not only lead the kitchen but also continue to build on the pub’s farm-to-fork ethos working closely with the team at Public House Produce at Bruern Farms, which is 15 minutes’ from the pub.

“I am absolutely thrilled to be joining The Bull in Charlbury. It feels like a homecoming for me - returning to my roots and getting to cook proper British pub grub once again,” Abé says.

“I can’t wait to work with all the amazing produce from the farm. I’m so excited to get back to these incredible British ingredients and just get cracking.”

James Gummer, founder of Public House group, added: “We are so excited to welcome Sally to The Bull. She is one of the country’s most talented chefs and her love for British produce and great pub food perfectly aligns with ours. We cannot wait to see her creativity in action.”
