It is one of two new openings planned by BVC Hospitality, the operator behind Supernova, which launched its first site on Peter Street in Soho in September 2023 and gained viral popularity on social media through its tight menu of US-style smash burgers.
Supernova’s will take over a 2,971sq ft site on North Audley Street for its second location in the capital.
Alongside this, BVC Hospitality will also launch a new French-focused concept in Mayfair this summer called 74 Duke.
Described as being ‘inspired by the timeless elegance of a Parisian brasserie’, 74 Duke will serve an all-day menu of classic French dishes alongside wines and cocktails.
Both openings form part of an announcement by commercial landlord Grosvenor on new food and beverage operators taking up residence across its Mayfair and Belgravia estate.
“We’re excited to expand our presence in the West End through the opening of Supernova and 74 Duke,” a spokesperson for BVC Hospitality commented.
“Grosvenor has been an excellent long-term partner for us, creating exceptional neighbourhoods that have enabled our venues to thrive.”
Also in Mayfair, modern Mediterranean kitchen concept Popina is tripling its floorspace to 1,500sq ft with a move to Weighhouse Street following strong performance at its current site on Duke Street.
While in Belgravia, the team behind Bagatelle Group will open a new bistro concept called Café des Lilas on Motcomb Street.
“We’ve been actively broadening the dining offer across our London portfolio, so it’s fantastic to see ambitious operators choosing Mayfair and Belgravia to grow their brands,” says Joanna Lea, retail director at Grosvenor.
“It reflects the strength of our neighbourhoods and the long-term partnerships we’ve built with occupiers who are expanding, evolving, and continuing to thrive in our spaces.”
Vacancy rates across Grosvenor’s portfolio remained below 5% at the end of Q1, with nine new retail and hospitality leases or renewals signed in the first quarter of the year.
