Italian restaurant and delicatessen Lina Stores will make it double figures in the capital next month with the opening of a restaurant in Canary Wharf.

The 100-cover restaurant, located at Crossrail Place, will be the brand’s 10th restaurant in London and 11th in the UK, joining its sites in Soho, King’s Cross, Clapham, Marylebone, South Kensington, Shoreditch and Manchester.

The ground floor will house an open-plan delicatessen inspired by the original Lina Stores delicatessen on Soho’s Brewer Street.

Open from breakfast through to the evening, menu items will include Italian breakfast sandwiches such as pancetta, mozzarella and eggs on focaccia; smoked salmoriglio and ricotta on focaccia and salads including fusilli with artichoke, truffle mushroom and semi-secchi tomatoes; and tuna, green beans, egg and tropea onion.

The main menu, overseen by head chef Masha Rener, will including fried ricotta and herb gnudi with chilli marmelleta; tuna crudo with capers, pink peppercorn and salsa verde; a selection of pasta dishes and mains such as chicken Milanese with Amalfi lemon; and grilled hispi cabbage with agrodolce, chilli, pine nuts and capers.

The restaurant will be accessed via a staircase in the delicatessen and will feature Lina Store’s signature green colour palette with dark timber, green opaline glass and terrazzo flooring, while the adjacent 76-seater Bar Lina will have a monochromatic glossy, dark red colour scheme redolent of 1970s Italy with a backlit onyx bar.

Lina Stores Canary Wharf opens on June 9.
