Opening on 30 May, the new restaurant will be located on South Clerk Street in the city’s Newington neighbourhood, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s ambitious UK expansion strategy.
The Edinburgh opening will be the group’s fifth site, joining existing locations in Newcastle, where it operates two sites, as well as Sunderland, and Whitley Bay.
The burger company says it is also targeting Manchester as a future location and wants to expand further across the UK.
“We’re incredibly excited to launch in Edinburgh, a city known for its rich culinary culture and passionate foodies,” says a spokesperson.
“This opening is a big step forward for us and is part of our wider plan to grow the Burger Drop experience across the UK. We can’t wait to serve the people of Edinburgh and be part of their community.”
Founded during lockdown, Burger Drop has built a loyal following for its menu that includes a range of smash burgers, loaded fries – including those topped with pulled beef brisket and donner meat – and fried chicken wings with flavours from across the world.
