Announcing the closure in a post on Instagram, co-founder Elia Sebregondi said that the business had faced ‘many challenges’ and that he needed time to process the loss.
“It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that Officina 00 restaurants have now permanently closed,” he says in the post.
“I have done everything in my power to overcome the many challenges faced in the last few months, but despite all efforts I have been forced to close down.“
I would like to thank our team for their dedication and hard work, as well as our beloved customers, thank you from the bottom of my heart, for your support and for embracing my food with such warmth.
“Your love gave meaning to every dish I created. Cooking has always been my greatest passion, and sharing it with you has been the most rewarding part of this journey.”
Sebregondi founded Officina 00 along with business partner Enzo Mirto in Old Street in 2019. The pair followed it up with a second site in Fitzrovia in late 2022 and then in March this year opened a restaurant that saw it serve pizza for the first time.
“As much as I now need time to process this loss, I’m also looking at the future with positivity,” Sebregondi adds.
“My passion is still very much alive, and I will continue to create, to dream, and to bring new ideas to life.”
