East Hertfordshire-based restaurant group PEACH. has announced the sudden closure of both of its sites after five years trading.

Founders Dan Knowles and Leigh Keates, who launched the business in 2020, confirmed that MOMO. BY PEACH. in Bishops Stortford and PEACH. in Hertford had both ceased trading, but gave no reason for the closures.

“With great sadness, we want to let you know that both restaurants have now closed,” the statement read.

“This was not an easy decision and certainly not one we took lightly. We are incredibly grateful for the support, kindness, and loyalty you’ve shown us over the years — it has meant everything.”

Knowles, a former lorry driver, joined forces with celebrity hairdresser Keates in 2020 to launch the first PEACH. restaurant in Bishops Stortford, which served a menu of brunch dishes, burger and small plates, alongside cocktails.

That restaurant subsequently evolved into MOMO. BY PEACH., a pan-Asian concept inspired primarily the flavours from Japan, Korea and Indonesia.

PEACH. Hertford, which retained the original concept, opened in November 2022.

Knowles and Keates confirmed that all future bookings and private hires across both restaurants have been contacted regarding the closures.

Addressing their customers, the pair added: “Thank you for being part of our journey.”
