The deal adds 18 sites to the Honi Poke portfolio split evenly between London and France, and brings its total estate across the UK and Europe to 45.
Honi Poke launched in 2017 and currently operates 24 sites in the UK and three in Cyprus.
Th group confirmed that the sites it’s acquired will continue to operate under the Island Poké brand, citing its ‘distinctive identity’ and ‘strong following’ within the poke space.
“This is a landmark moment for Honi Poke,” says Volodymyr Martynov, founder of Honi Poke.
“Island Poké has played a huge role in popularising poke across the UK and Europe, and we’re incredibly proud to bring our two brands together.
“Honi Poke has experienced phenomenal growth over the past few years, opening nine new sites last year alone, and with this acquisition we’re projecting annualised revenue of over £20m in the UK alone.”
He added that the group’s ambition is to reach 50 sites within the next year.
Island Poké was founded by James Gould-Porter, a former Bonhams auctioneer, back in 2015.
Initially operating as a street food stall, the brand secured the backing of White Rabbit Fund in 2016 and subsequently went on to open its first bricks and mortar site on Kingly Street in Soho later that year.
At the time, Chris Miller, White Rabbit founder and CEO, said the brand possessed a robust underlying business with its core sites generating profits.
However, he added that the business had been hindered by substantial Covid-19-related debts, inflation, and exceptionally inclement weather at the beginning of 2024.
