Leeds-based SQEW will bring its kebabs to Manchester’s Deansgate area, taking over the former Rola Wala site.
SQEW was devised in early 2015 by chef and Mitch Renshaw, who wanted to create an elevated take on the kebab. The brand eventually opened its first bricks and mortar site on Leeds’ Duncan Street in 2012.
Since then, the brands has won a number of awards, including being crowned the Best Lebanese Restaurant or Takeaway in the UK at the British Kebab Awards in 2024.
“We’ve been searching for the perfect site since 2023, and when we came across 75 Deansgate we jumped at it,” says Renshaw.
“We have a few surprises up our sleeves for Manchester and can’t wait to reveal more.
“Having spent the last few weeks in Manchester, I’m brimming ear to ear, the people, the culture, the operators, we just can’t wait to be part of it.”
