The Wolseley Hospitality Group owner Minor Hotels has announced plans to launch hotels under both The Wolseley and Colbert restaurant brands.

The Wolseley Hotels and the Colbert Collection are two of four new hotel brands to be added to the Minor portfolio, which spans more than 560 properties across 57 countries.

Minor Reserve Collection and iStay Hotels complete the quartet.

The Wolseley and Colbert are both restaurant brands within The Wolseley Hospitality Group’s (formerly Corbin & King) London portfolio, which Minor acquired full control of in April 2022 following a prolonged and very public battle for ownership with Jeremy King, the group’s co-founder.

Minor describes its vision for The Wolseley Hotels as being ‘rooted in the heritage of the iconic Piccadilly restaurant’.

“The Wolseley Hotels is a luxury brand that blends British elegance with European flair and global influence,” the press notes read.

Colbert Collection, by contrast, is positioned as ‘a soft brand in the premium segment’.

According to the press notes, it will ‘encompass a global collection of independent hotels designed for those fuelled by a passion for culinary excellence and genuine social connection’.

“We have meticulously crafted each new brand to capture specific opportunities in the market, enabling us to meet the evolving needs of modern travellers and owners alike,” says Ian Di Tullio, chief commercial officer of Minor Hotels.

“By expanding our brand offering to address new segments, we are empowering our partners, delighting our guests, and accelerating our global growth strategy.”

He adds that the new brands are instrumental in helping Minor reach its growth target of 850 properties by the end of 2027.

Minor Hotels is in active discussions regarding development opportunities for each of its brands and the first property announcements for The Wolseley Hotels, Minor Reserve Collection, Colbert Collection and iStay are expected in the coming months.
