Danish restaurant group SticksʹnʹSushi is to make its Scottish debut with a restaurant in Glasgow.

Located on George Square, the new restaurant will have a 177-cover dining room and bar when it opens in Scotland’s second city in November.

The menu will feature Sticks’n’Sushi’s signature selection of sharing dishes, sticks, sushi and sashimi offered a la carte, or as curated set menus.

Popular dishes include beef tataki, beef fillet with miso aioli, truffle ponzu and artichoke crisps; and temaki setto, DIY sushi rolls with lobster, wagyu tartare and avocado, as well as grill dishes such as miso-glazed black cod; and lamb with garlic butter, spring onion and soy sesame.

The new opening will take Sticks’n’Sushi’s total portfolio to 31 restaurants in Denmark, UK and Germany - which include 15 in the UK - with further new restaurants planned nationwide for early next year.

“We are delighted to be bringing SticksʹnʹSushi to Scotland – and what better place for us to begin our northern adventure than Glasgow," says group CEO Andreas Karlsson.

“As we continue to look to grow both in the UK and cross Europe, we look forward to welcoming the local community, both as guests and new members of our team.

“Being able to grow and create jobs is a huge privilege and plays a large part of our current strategy, with several exciting developments in the pipeline, both nationwide and internationally.”

Originating in Copenhagen, SticksʹnʹSushi is one of Denmark’s longest established restaurant groups. As well as its UK sites it operates 12 restaurants in and around the Danish capital and three in Berlin, Germany.
