Market Halls has set out plans to double its estate and grow annual sales to over £100m within the next three years amid a change to its senior leadership.

The five-strong food hall group has named former Laine Pub Co MD Dan Hills as managing director and CEO designate.

Hills will work closely with Market Halls founder and current CEO Andy Lewis-Pratt as he steps into the leadership role.

Lewis-Pratt adds that the move will allow him into new board role that will focusing on doubling the group’s footprint and growing annual sales from its current base of £45m.

“Dan brings over 25 years of industry experience from Laine Pub Co, where he held multiple director roles, including four years as Managing Director. His proven track record in steering growth and creating long-term value aligns perfectly with Market Halls’ bold vision,” says Lewis-Pratt.

It comes amid a busy year for Market Halls.

In March this year Brighton’s Shelter Hall became the group’s first regional location after it acquired it from food brand licensing platform Sessions.

The group opened its fourth London food hall, in Paddington, the same month.

Earlier this month, Market Halls parent company Cavendish Square Group reported a rise in profits.

Pre-tax profits reached to £1.17m for the year ended 30 June 2024, up from £225,438 the previous year while adjusted venue EBITDA rose from £2.5m to £3.8m.

“I’m delighted to have joined this incredible operation,” Hills says.

“I’ve admired the Market Halls business for many years and am thrilled to have the opportunity to lead it through the next stage of growth.”
