As revealed by Estates Gazette, Arcade has submitted plans to Westminster City Council to update the shopfront of the Grade II-listed site.
The previous TGI fit out has already been stripped by the landlord after the restaurant closed in 2022.
According to a planning statement filed by Savills on behalf of Arcade, the concept for the new food hall is ‘still in development’.
“Whilst it will carry the brand DNA of previous Arcade Food Halls, it will be a unique experience,” the document reads.
Arcade currently operates two food halls on Tottenham Court Road and in Battersea Power Station.
The business is led by Dirty Bones co-founder Cokey Sulkin and his business partner, Dipak Panchal.
JKS, the restaurant group behind the likes of Gymkhana, Brigadiers, Sabor and Kitchen Table, was front and centre of the launch of Arcade Tottenham Court Road when it opened on Oxford Street in the spring of 2022.
However, the group’s relationship with Arcade subsequently changed and by the time Arcade Battersea opened in the summer of 2023 JKS was only credited as working in partnership with Arcade’s owners on Arcade Create, a platform that ‘helps chefs and creators with great food ideas’.
Brands developed by Arcade Create include Shatta & Toum, Hero, Tipan Tapan, and Manna; all of which feature on the roster at both Arcade Tottenham Court Road and Arcade Battersea.
It is unknown whether JKS will have any involvement in Arcade Covent Garden.
Restaurant has contacted Arcade for comment on the Covent Garden launch.
