Hawtin-Butcher joins 50 Best, which has been owned and operated by Restaurant publisher William Reed since 2002, following the departure of Tim Brooke-Webb earlier this year and will lead the strategic direction of the brand as it continues to evolve and expand its global footprint.
He was previously managing director at Intermedia in Sydney, Australia, one of the country’s largest B2B hospitality media and events businesses.
“After eight years in Sydney, I’m excited to return to the UK to take on the role of managing director at 50 Best,” says Hawtin-Butcher, who has also contributed to Delicious Magazine, GQ, Esquire and The Guardian, amongst others, in the past.
“50 Best is a brand with exceptional global reach, influence and opportunity.
“I’m energised by the opportunity ahead and look forward to working with colleagues across William Reed to shape the next chapter of 50 Best’s evolution.”
The 50 Best portfolio also includes The World’s 50 Best Hotels, The World’s 50 Best Vineyards, and 50 Best Discovery, alongside various restaurants and bars regional offshoots.
