Craft beer and pizza brand CRATE has taken the former Fish Game site in Canary Wharf for its second London location.

The large Wood Wharf site follows the success of the original CRATE brewery and restaurant that launched in Hackney Wick in 2012.

Its younger sibling will offer the same CRATE core range of Lagers, Pale Ales, IPAs, Stout and Cider, all made by Purity Brewing, alongside a new range of ‘experimental’ soda cocktails: Vodka Raspberry Yuzu and Gin Lemon Koji.

Made with Wildfarmed regenerative flour, pizzas will include Sage and Truffle, Spicy Salami, and Middle Eastern Lamb.

“we can’t wait to bring CRATE to a new part of London. We feel so lucky to have built an incredible community in Hackney Wick, then we found a space in Wood Wharf that we fell in love with, and wanted to bring the authentic CRATE vibe to,” says co-founder Jess Seaton.

“The whole family has chipped in for an ‘all hands on deck’ situation to

renovate as much of the space as we can by ourselves, the true CRATE way!”

The sister site will participate in the four-day work week trial for full-time, salaried employees that is ongoing at the original site.

An ‘ultra-seasonal’ spin-off from Roberto Costa’s Macellaio RC steakhouse group, Fish Game closed last spring after just one year’s trading.
