Applications are open for high-profile front-of-house competition the Gold Service Scholarship.

The Gold Service Scholarship is designed to inspire, educate and nurture young talent in hospitality by offering networking opportunities with like-minded peers; professional development through training, workshops, stages and travel; and access to experienced leaders in the industry to share their knowledge and insight with the next generation.

The closing date for applications is Friday 3 October 2025 and to be eligible, entrants must be aged between 22 and 30 on this date.

Winning finalists will benefit from educational trips to the EHL Hospitality Business School in Switzerland where they will undertake a bespoke five-day course, as well as Porto, and automatic membership to the competition’s Team Gold alumni network to take advantage of various educational opportunities throughout the course of the year.

The scholar will receive a bespoke programme of learning opportunities, which will include the chance to stage at the Mandarin Oriental Bangkok and Hong Kong; the three-Michelin-starred Waterside Inn in Bray, Berkshire; and the chance to work a state visit at Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle.

The quarter finals will take place on 25 October 2025 at the Langham London and 29 October at Hotel Café Royal. Split across two days, candidates will only be required to attend one of the sessions. The semi-finals will take place at The Chancery Rosewood on 24 November 2025.

The final is set for mid-January 2026 at Corinthia London, and the next Gold Service Scholar will be announced in February 2026 at an awards ceremony at Claridge’s.

“This scholarship is more than a competition – it is an investment in the future leaders of our industry, providing them with the skills, confidence, and opportunities to thrive in their careers,” says trustee and chair of judges Edward Griffiths.

“We know that the hospitality sector is built on people, passion, and professionalism, and the Gold Service Scholarship continues to play a vital role in nurturing that next generation. I encourage anyone with the drive to learn, grow, and represent the very best of service to step forward and apply.”
