The acclaimed restaurant, which is known for its omakase-style pasta tasting experience, will pitch up for two weeks at Pizza East in Shoreditch for a two-week residency from 6 October.
Pasta Bar, led by husband-and-wife chef duo Phillip Frankland Lee and Margarita Kallas-Lee, makes its UK debut following a string of international pop-ups. For the Shoreditch residency, the Pasta Bar team will collaborate with Gordon Ramsay Restaurants Global, bringing together chefs from LA and Ramsay’s executive chef brigade to create a unique menu that adapts Pasta Bar’s immersive fine-dining approach to Pizza East’s casual setting.
The Los Angeles restaurant offers a 10-course chef’s counter experience that merges traditional techniques with seasonal, globally inspired flavours with each course cooked and plated directly in front of guests. It has retained a Michelin star for five consecutive years, from 2021 to 2025.
The menu being served at Pizza East is yet to be revealed but guests will have the option to order à la carte or a four-course tasting menu. The meal will be paired with a bespoke cocktail menu, inspired by chef Frankland Lee’s American roots and the shared Italian influences of both Pasta Bar and Pizza East.
“I am so delighted that Phillip Frankland Lee and his wife Margarita, from LA’s very cool, Michelin starred Pasta Bar are heading to London for a unique collaboration with my team at Pizza East,” says Ramsay.
“What a pop up this will be! I cannot wait to try their delicious menu and the whole Ramsay family will be first in line when it opens next Monday.”
The Pasta Bar duo are also set to be featured in Studio Ramsay’s upcoming series, Knife Edge: Chasing Michelin Stars, premiering on Apple TV+ on 10 October.
