The St. Clement Hotel, which marks Jones’s first hotel project outside the Soho House brand since he stepped away as CEO of the private members’ club group in 2022, will also feature a rooftop restaurant, a gym, and 15 apartments.
As with Corner Shop 180, the hotel will operate under Jones’s new company: Jones & Co (Hotels, Restaurant and Residences).
Jones decided to step back from his role as chief executive at Soho House following treatment for prostate cancer, but remained on the board in a founder role. He had been CEO of the business for the past 27 years and has taken Soho House from a single location to a publicly listed company.
In August this year it was reported that Soho House was returning to private ownership after signing a deal with an investor group led by New York-based business MCR Hotels. The deal, which valued the private members club operator at $2.7bn, saw Soho House delist from the New York Stock Exchange four years on from its float Soho House operates 46 members clubs worldwide including 14 in the UK.
