The team behind Soho super pub The Devonshire are heading to Covent Garden for their next venue.

They are said to be converting the former offices of the Lady magazine into a pub and restaurant, according to the Standard.

Westminster Council has approved a licence application by Charlie Carroll, the Flat Iron founder and operator behind the Devonshire, and Capital and Counties Ltd to transform the six-storey Georgian building located on Bedford Street into a hospitality venue.

Involved alongside Carroll will be The Devonshire’s Oisín Rogers and Ashley Palmer-Watts, according to the Standard, which said it expected the venue to become a multi-floor restaurant with a pub on the ground floor, in a similar operation to the trio’s Soho pub.

The Lady offices have been vacant since the now closed magazine left it in 2019.

The project will be the latest from Carroll and Rogers, who have also leant their backing to Crisp Pizza founder Carl McCluskey for his new Mayfair pub The Marlborough.

Due to open next month, the North Audley Street site will serve McCluskey’s much-loved pizzas.
