In a brief post on Instagram, O’Hare says he is looking for staff for a new project in Boston Spa, an affluent village within the Leeds metropolitan district.
The restaurant appears to be called In Lamentation, which is perhaps a reference to the ill-fated nature of his most recent restaurant project Psycho Sandbar, which closed last year just seven months after launching on the site that previously housed his Michelin-starred The Man Behind The Curtain in Leeds city centre.
“In lamentation” literally means in a state of mourning or expressing grief.
O’Hare describes the restaurant as “super intimate” with just 16 covers. According to the post (below), it will operate just four services a week.
O’Hare is best known for The Man Behind The Curtain, which launched in 2014 and held a Michelin star until it closed in 2023 to become Psycho Sandbar.
Featuring a brutalist surf shack look, Psycho Sandbar served a fish-heavy à la carte menu that was a move away from the set tasting menus offered by The Man Behind The Curtain.
At the time, O’Hare said the move was in response to the changing restaurant landscape that has been hit first by Brexit, then the pandemic and then the current cost of living crisis.
