The transformation will include the appointment of a new executive chef, details of which will be revealed in the new year.
As revealed earlier this week by Restaurant, the closure is part of brand owner Evolv Collection’s attempt to regain Orrery’s Michelin star, which it was awarded in 1999 but lost in 2008.
The refurbishment will enhance Orrery’s Conran-designed interiors while honouring the restaurant’s namesake, the orrery, a mechanical model of the solar system that shows the relative positions and movements of planets and moons, according to the group.
“This is an exciting new chapter for Orrery,” says Martin Williams, CEO at Evolv Collection. “After years of delivering exceptional French dining in one of London’s most beautiful restaurant spaces, we’re ready to write the next chapter.
“Our ambition is clear: to return Orrery to Michelin-starred status while preserving the elegant charm and warm hospitality that our guests love.”
The restaurant will continue to serve its classic French menu until the end of December.
During the refurbishment period, Orrery’s ground-floor Épicerie will remain open.
