The team behind Holland Park restaurant Julie’s are making their little sibling pop-up permanent next year.

Little Julie’s will open in Holland Park early in the new year following its success as a pop-up over September and October.

By day, the space will run as a café, serving daily specials - including eggs with focaccia soldiers - for lunch, seasonal salads and a sandwich of the day. The new site will also offer coffees to have in or take away.

In the evening, the venue will turn into a wine-led space offering a selection of small plates.

The menu has been created by chef patron Owen Kenworthy, formerly executive chef at The Pelican and head chef at Brawn.

“We’re so grateful to all of our loyal guests who have supported Julie’s since our launch,” says owner of Julie’s Tara MacBain, who guided the concept for the new opening.

“Little Julie’s is our way of creating a space where people can come at any time of day, whether it’s for a quick morning stop or for a relaxed glass of wine in the evening.

“We hope it becomes a place that feels like a second home for everyone in the community.”

In May 2024, MacBain oversaw the successful relaunch of Julie’s restaurant, which holds a 2 Rosette Award for Culinary Excellence and opened to critical acclaim.

Little Julie’s will be located opposite Julie’s on Portland Road and will initially be open 7.30am to 5pm Monday to Sunday but will begin opening in the evenings come February with a wine and small plates offer.
