Chick ‘n’ Sours is set to launch a new residency, marking its return to London’s East End.

Starting tomorrow, the fried chicken brand will spend three months at The Crown & Castle in Dalston, not far from the brand’s original site in Haggerston.

Signature dishes that helped build the brand’s reputation will be on offer, including fried chicken sandwiches; glazed wings, and tenders in seaweed ‘crack’ seasoning.

“Chick ’n’ Sours brings a flavour and attitude that suits this part of East London perfectly,” says a spokesperson for The Crown and Castle.

“Having them back in Dalston feels like welcoming a familiar face home.”

Chick ’n’ Sours co-founder David Wolanski added: “Following on from the closure of the restaurants and the success of our residency at Big Chill, returning to Kingsland Road means a lot.

“This area is a huge part of the Chick ’n’ Sours story, and it feels right to be cooking here again.

“We can’t wait to see some familiar old faces again and introducing newbies to the Chick ’n’ Sours experience.”

The group’s debut restaurant, which opened in 2015, along with their Seven Dials location, closed in June earlier this year, with co-founder David Wolanski describing the current trading situation as not viable and the casual dining model as ‘broken’.

Joining the location at the King’s Cross bar and music venue Big Chill, the Dalston site marks the brand’s second residency in what they describe as a ‘strategic shift to low-capex growth’.

The pop-up will operate on a walk-ins-only basis between 5pm and 9pm from Monday to Thursday and 12pm to 10pm on Friday and Saturday.
