High-profile New York chef and restaurateur Jody Williams is set to bring her New York-founded restaurant Buvette back to London this spring.

The restaurant will take over the former St John Bakery site in Covent Garden’s Neal’s Yard.

Williams launched Buvette in Notting Hill in the midst of the pandemic but closed it in 2024.

Late last year, it was announced that St John Bakery would move to a larger site within the same development.

Buvette’s second London incarnation will operate as an 80-cover, all-day ‘gastrothèque’, with additional seating on a yard-side terrace.

Open from breakfast through to late evening, Buvette is described as being designed for spontaneity and will cater for everything from morning coffee and lunch to post-theatre cocktails and dinner.

Williams launched Buvette in New York’s West Village in 2011 and has since expanded the concept to Paris, Tokyo and Seoul.

A James Beard Award-winning chef and restaurateur, Williams also operates Via Carota, I Sodi, The Commerce Inn and Bar Pisellino in New York alongside her wife, Rita Sodi.
