High-profile pastry chef Nicolas Rouzaud has opened a café in Mayfair’s Burlington Arcade.

Opened last week, Le Café is the first café to launch within the historic shopping arcade.

The all-day concept serves sweet and savoury dishes inspired by Rouzaud’s childhood in France, including brioche à tête, a range of pastries and a seasonal soup served with bread.

The menu also includes coffee-based drinks designed to sit somewhere between beverage and dessert, alongside a small cocktail list. Signature drinks include Lemon Pie, inspired by Rouzaud’s lemon tart.

All items are prepared daily, with selected products – including pastries – available to eat in or take away.

Prices are positioned accessibly for the area, with croissants from £3.50, coffee from £3.50 and sandwiches priced at £12.

Designed by Sabrina Caisson Design, the café occupies three floors within Burlington Arcade. The ground floor operates as the main café space, while the first floor offers additional seating. A lower ground floor provides a more intimate dining area.

Le Café is led by an experienced hospitality team, including executive pastry chef Mourad Khiat and café manager Timea Rambacs.

Originally from Toulouse, Rouzaud trained and worked at a number of leading hotels and restaurants, including three Michelin-starred Le Bristol Paris and The Lanesborough in London.

He is best known for his eight-year tenure as executive pastry chef at The Connaught, where he developed his signature style and later launched Nicolas Rouzaud at The Connaught.

Rouzaud has since expanded internationally, with locations in Doha at Four Seasons The Pearl and Place Vendôme Mall.

“For me, gourmandise is not an occasion, it is a daily language,” he says. “With Le Café, I wanted to return to something instinctive: warmth, memory, and emotion, yet with a freer, more playful spirit. A little bolder, more spontaneous, more alive. A place where everyone is welcome, where you come for a simple pleasure and leave with a souvenir, something comforting, seasonal, and made at its absolute best.”
