Two-Michelin-star chef Alex Dilling has partnered with contract caterer Searcys to create an exclusive events menu for its recently launched Horizon 22 venue in The City.

The menu, titled ASCEND by Alex Dilling, brings Dilling’s refined French cooking to the events space, which is opened in 2023.

The collaboration will run for 12 months, with the potential to extend.

Dilling, who holds two Michelin stars for his eponymous restaurant at Hotel Café Royal, has developed a selection of canapés, bowl food and fine dining dishes designed specifically for large-scale service.

Dishes include lobster brioche with charred lemon and basil; buttermilk fried chicken with Stilton crème fraîche and celery; olive oil–poached cod with fregola sarda and shellfish; and beef cheek bourguignon with pomme purée and smoked Alsace bacon.

Located on Level 58 of the City of London’s tallest building, Horizon 22 is Europe’s highest free public viewing gallery and events space, offering panoramic views across the capital.

The venue can accommodate up to 280 guests for seated dinners or 500 for standing receptions, and hosts events ranging from award ceremonies and product launches to gala dinners and corporate receptions.

Dilling said the brief was to translate Michelin-level precision into an operationally efficient events format.

“The challenge was translating the discipline of a two-Michelin-star kitchen into an events environment where consistency, speed and replication matter just as much as flavour,” he said.

“Every dish has been designed to perform operationally, holding well in service, delivering clarity of flavour at scale and allowing teams to execute with confidence, without compromising on ingredient quality or technique.”

Searcys said the partnership reflects a shared focus on quality and experience, positioning Horizon 22 as a premium destination for corporate and private events.

Dilling grew up between London and the US and has worked alongside some of the world’s leading chefs. He returned to the UK in 2022 to open his restaurant at Hotel Café Royal, which was awarded two Michelin stars within months of opening.
