Sardinian restaurant Domo is set to open its first Leeds venue at the canal-side Tower Works development.

Founded in Sheffield’s Kelham Island district in 2019 by husband-and-wife team Sarah Elliott-Busceddu and Raffaele Busceddu, Domo Leeds will be the brand’s second location.

The menu is set to champion dishes rarely seen outside Sardinia and all made entirely in-house.

In addition to its main restaurant offering, the venue will also offer a daily lunch menu with takeaway options for local residents and office workers, as well as weekend breakfasts, making it an all-day destination.

Domo Leeds will occupy a 2,841sq ft canal-side space, offering around 95 covers inside along with outdoor seating for 25.

“Opening our second restaurant feels incredibly special,” says Domo co-owner Sarah Elliott-Busceddu.

“Domo started as a shared dream, built from years of hard work and a deep love for Sardinian food culture and to be bringing that passion to Leeds is a huge milestone for us and one we’re really proud of.

“We both spend a lot of time in Leeds, and we absolutely love the city and the people.

“When we discovered the site at Tower Works, we knew instantly it had to be the home of Domo Leeds. We’re so excited to join the incredible indie food scene here and become part of the local community.”

Designed in collaboration with interior specialist 93 Ft, the venue will feature Sardinian craftsmanship, including hand-woven Sardinian baskets made by Raffaele’s aunts, traditional hand-carved masks from Mamoiada and artwork by Sardinian artists, as well as a mural.

The space will also include tables with authentic Sardinian tiles, high tables overlooking the canal, an open kitchen, and a circular cocktail bar.

Works to fit out the restaurant are already underway and are expected to be completed in the spring.
