Michelin has confirmed the restaurants that have lost their stars in the 2026 Michelin Guide Great Britain & Ireland 2026.

The majority of deletions are down to closures or upcoming closures.

Most notably, the little red book now has fewer two-Michelin-starred restaurants than in the previous year due to the closure of London restaurants Claude Bosi at Bibendum and La Dame de Pic, and the temporary closure of Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons in Oxfordshire.

Just three restaurants that are currently trading have lost their one-star rating.

In London, Humo has lost its star following the departure of its founding chef patron Miller Prada last year, and so has Club Gascon following its announcement that it will close later this month after nearly three decades.

The Bridge Arms, in Bridge, Kent, has lost its star due to a change of ownership.

The closed restaurants that no longer feature in the guide are Five Fields and Lyle’s in London, Crocadon in Cornwall, and Restaurant Hjem in Northumberland.

Hjem Restaurant started a six-month residency at the South Causey Inn in County Durham earlier this month as a stopgap while the team works on their new, permanent, purpose-built restaurant with rooms, named Freyja, which is scheduled to open in autumn 2026 at the Close House estate in Wylam.
