Fratelli, a new pizza restaurant, is set to launch at live music venue The Met in Bury, Greater Manchester, later this month.

The new venture will offer New York-style pizza alongside fried chicken and mozzarella sticks and - as a part of its lunchtime menu – ‘pizza sandos’ (folded pizza).

Occupying the former home of the restaurant Automatic, which traded for more than 20 years, the launch represents a return to the site for co-founders Charles Timin and Sam James, who both worked there as teenagers.

The founding team also includes Conor Hayes and Miles Crompton as well as Will Gallie, who is behind other Greater Manchester venues such as Holcombe Tap, Eagle & Child, and most recently the revitalisation of The Swan & Cemetery.

The business has already demonstrated strong demand and community support through a series of successful pop-ups over the past year, including Makers Markets, Bury FC, Bury RUFC, The Paddock, and most recently a residency at the Eagle & Child in Ramsbottom.

Initially, the team had planned to host another pop-up in December, however, after viewing the available space at The Met, they opted for a permanent location.

The restaurant will join a growing collection of local independent hospitality venues, including Bloom, Wax and Bean, and the recently reopened The Clarence.

“We’ve been working incredibly hard on Fratelli for over a year, building the business through pop-ups and getting our name and brand out there,” says Sam James, co-founder of Fratelli.

“Securing a permanent home in Bury is a huge milestone, and we are proud to be another independent business in our hometown.”

Fratelli will be open Wednesday to Saturday, 12pm to 9pm, and Sundays 12pm to 7pm, offering dine-in and takeaway options.
