London’s Platapian will host Bangkok’s cult pad kaprao specialist Phed Mark for a two-month takeover.

Founded by food and travel blogger Mark Wiens alongside chef Gigg, former Thai actor Thep and food critic Kittidech ‘Tan’ Vimolratana, Phed Mark will bring its menu to Greek Street in Soho.

The brand is known for its core dish, pad kaprao, with customisable spice levels ranging from spicy to its signature ‘very spicy’.

The takeover will run exclusively from the downstairs space at Platapian and will operate on a walk-in-only basis.

For the first time, starters by Platapian will be added to the Phed Mark menu including crispy spring rolls, crispy pork and prawn dumplings, and grilled pork satay.

Mains will consist exclusively of pad kaprao, available with beef, chicken or a vegetarian option, served with rice and topped with a fried duck egg. The Phed Mark London’s special - mama noodles stir-fried with holy basil, grilled lobster tail and a fried egg - will also be available.

Platapian was founded by restaurateur Nam Parama Raiva and draws on family recipes spanning Northern and Southern Thailand.

The collaboration brings together Raiva’s more traditional Thai cooking with Phed Mark’s modern Bangkok street-food approach.

Phed Mark at Platapian will run from 8 March until 15 May.
