The opening will mark Beddia’s first restaurant outside the US and Four Legs’ first international partnership.
Bar Etna will champion Beddia’s signature-style pizzas paired with McIlroy’s ingredient-led approach.
The restaurant will serve whole pizzas, featuring Pizzeria Beddia’s signature styles and rotating seasonal specials. The menu will also include Italian-American classics like aubergine parmigiana, caponata, and meatballs, complemented by simple sides and soft serve.
Open until late, the venue offers a drinks selection including house spritzes, negronis on tap, and low-intervention wines.
“This feels like a natural next step for Four Legs to work with chefs beyond our immediate circle,” says Ed McIlroy, Four Legs founder.
“Joe is an incredible chef and a great guy with a similar ethos to ours across The Plimsoll and Tollington’s, so the partnership felt like an opportunity we couldn’t turn down.”
Beddia opened his original standing-room-only shop in 2013 and in 2015, it was named the ‘Best Pizza in America’ by Bon Appétit and then, in 2025, it was awarded a Bib Gourmand. It has since moved to a larger space in Philadelphia’s Fishtown neighbourhood.
“Opening in London is a dream come true, and together with Ed and Mike, they’ve helped make that happen,” says Beddia.
“I’m so excited to finally open the doors and bring my cooking outside of the US for the very first time.”
Michael (Mike) Stampler is overseeing operations, design, and development, completing the founding trio behind Bar Etna.
The interior will draw on mid-century Milanese design, blending original architectural features with reclaimed materials to preserve the building’s heritage.
