Taro Crystal Palace will have 66 covers and serve the brand’s core menu of ramen, udon, sushi, sashimi and tempura, prepared to order.
Menu highlights include prawn or grilled chicken gyoza, takoyaki with tonkatsu sauce, and the group’s signature bento boxes, featuring sushi, tempura, katsu and edamame, served with miso soup and rice.
The restaurant will also offer a selection of ramen and rice dishes, alongside special bento featuring sashimi, tempura and nigiri, and introduce a Crystal Palace special roll made with salmon, prawn and yellowtail with asparagus, avocado and tobiko, finished with spicy mayo.
Drinks will include hot and cold sake, Japanese beers, and a rotating selection of soft drinks, with its signature cocktail, the lychee martini, made with Holy Grass vodka, lychee juice, coconut syrup and lime.
“We are incredibly proud to be opening Taro Crystal Palace, marking our 10th restaurant in the UK,” says founder Mr Taro.
“Crystal Palace has a strong sense of community, a great independent food scene and a real neighbourhood spirit, which made it feel like the perfect home for this important milestone for Taro.
‘We’re excited to bring our authentic Japanese flavours to the area, from fresh handmade sushi and our much-loved bento boxes to a special dish created exclusively for Crystal Palace by our chefs.
“As always, guests can expect warm, heartfelt hospitality - the kind Taro has become known for over the past 25 years.
“Japanese food is truly having a moment in the UK, and I am deeply proud to be sharing the flavours of my home country with British diners.
“We can’t wait to welcome the people of Crystal Palace into our restaurant, be part of the local community, and share what we love most: great food made with care.”
The opening follows the brand’s recent launches in Brentwood (May 2024), Catford (June 2024) and Brighton (September 2025).
