ARRIBA, meaning ‘upstairs’ in Spanish, will be located on the first floor of Arros QD and will bring together food, wine, art and culture.
The menu will be inspired by the ‘seven-Michelin-starred philosophy’ of Dacosta, while also deeply rooted in the heritage of Valencian cuisine.
The year-round programme of events will include an annual dinner hosted by Dacosta as well as regular masterclasses led by executive chef Eduardo Salazar that will teach members how the restaurant’s signature paella is made.
Salazar will also welcome guest chefs from across Spain and South America for one-off collaborative dinners and host evenings with Spanish producers and artisans who will share insight into the culture behind their produce.
At ARRIBA Bar, regular wine tastings with invited winemakers and sommeliers will also form part of the society’s calendar.
Other events will include cultural salons and conversations with authors and artists alongside Flamenco and live Hispanic music evenings, film screenings and discussions with business leaders.
The society will be open to a total of 500 individuals, targeted at those who live in, work with and love Spain, with applicants to be approved by a membership committee.
“Arriba will be an oasis of Spanish culture that sits in the heart of Fitzrovia,” says, Tristram Hillier, CEO of Arros QD.
“The purpose is not to launch a different experience but to harness the community we have who want to meet and celebrate the core pillars of Spanish culture.
“Restaurants are increasingly becoming communities as much as places to eat.
“ARRIBA allows us to extend the Arros experience beyond the dining room into a space where people can meet, host and take part in cultural and culinary events.”
Designed by Spanish designer, Lázaro Rosa-Violán, The Light Room, which by day is flooded with natural daylight and by night, lit by chandeliers, will be the central hub for the society, whilst the secluded Private Dining Room acts as a spot for members to enjoy private lunches and chef-led dinners.
Dacosta adds: “Community has always been central to our thinking at Arros QD, as we believe it is the people who make a place special, not the space.
“Therefore, we designed ARRIBA to create a meaningful community for our members to meet, relax, converse and feel culturally stimulated, all against the backdrop of the restaurant’s hospitality and cooking.”
Arros QD was founded in 2019 by Dacosta, who’s flagship venue, Quique Dacosta Restaurante, in Dénia holds three Michelin stars.
ARRIBA will launch on the 1 April with annual memberships starting from £600.
